On September 11, 2014, the Project honored the extraordinary commitments of volunteer lawyers at its 2014 Volunteer Recognition & Awards Event. The Project presented Exceptional Service Awards to law firms Quarles & Brady LLP and Sidley Austin LLP. The 2014 John Paul Stevens Guiding Hand of Counsel Award was presented to volunteer attorney Mark MacDougall, a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Debo Adegible, former director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund delivered keynote remarks.
