On July 18, 2006, Chief Justice Michael A. Wolff, Judge Laura Denvir Stith, and Judge Richard B. Teitelman of the Supreme Court of Missouri hosted a pro bono informational meeting at the Missouri Court of Appeals Building in Kansas City. Private bar lawyers, judges, and members of the law school and public interest communities attended the meeting and a post-meeting reception sponsored by Thomas West. Speakers included Robin Maher, Director of the Death Penalty Representation Project; Sean O'Brien, Executive Director of the Public Interest Litigation Clinic; and volunteer death penalty lawyer Charles German. Each speaker discussed the importance of pro bono assistance and their experiences working on post-conviction death penalty cases.
