Your gift will be acknowledged.

Thank you for your interest. Unrestricted gifts allow us to act swiftly when unfunded needs arise.

There are always more needs than resources when supporting children’s legal rights. We are grateful to the ABA FJE for its continuing support, but the needs are greater than what the FJE provides. We continually seek grants, organizational funding, and donations to support our work.

Often Center attorneys must turn down requests for training, technical assistance or consulting because we cannot charge a grant for it. Unrestricted gifts allow us to answer swiftly when needs arise.

Our nonprofit Center is housed within the ABA Fund for Justice and Education (FJE), a 501(c)(3) charitable fund that supports the public service and educational programs of the American Bar Association. The FJE keeps administrative costs to 1% of its operating budget.

In 1978 the Center was created through a $150,000 federal grant from the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect to promote child-centered law and practice reform. Today, we are responsible stewards of a $2,000,000 operating budget funded mainly through grants and contracts from state, federal, and charitable sources.

That funding supports 13 attorneys, plus 6 research, communications, and operations staff working on nine projects, including training, research, writing, technical assistance, law and practice reform.
