Employment

Employment opportunities at the Center are posted here, and at the ABA Employment Opportunities page.

  • The Center is growing! We are currently seeking to  hire two staff attorney positions:

    Staff Attorney 1

    Staff Attorney 2

Attorneys with several years of experience in the children's law field are encouraged to apply.

Internships

The Center welcomes interns throughout the year. Interns generally support Center projects assisting with research, writing and analysis, communications, meetings and events. Efforts are made to match interns' interests and skills with appropriate projects and tasks.

Internships are generally unpaid; there are exceptions when grant funds are available. Interns are usually students on work study, students using a public interest stipend through their schools, or student volunteers.

During the school year, interns work about 15 hours per week for at least 3 months. During the summer, interns work either full or part-time for at least 2 months.

Internships are open to law students, graduate (e.g., social work, psychology) and undergraduate students. Applicants must be interested in child welfare and the law.

To apply: Send a cover letter and resume to:

Partnership Opportunities

The Center is always looking at new areas where we can grow our work by partnering with other organizations. These partnerships strengthen the field, deepen understanding of complex cross-cutting issues, and broaden our reach through relationship building.

Examples of partnership opportunities include:

  • legislative advocacy
  • policy reform
  • project advisory committee participation
  • co-sponsoring trainings or webinar presentations
  • ABA policy development and support
  • joint publications
