Regina Sam Penti is a partner in Ropes & Gray’s intellectual property transactions, data and emerging companies groups. For over 17 years, she has represented technology companies and their investors, with particular focus on the artificial intelligence, robotics, software, fintech and digital health space.
Regina has significant experience structuring and negotiating strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, asset purchases and bet-the-company collaborations. She is dual-qualified as a U.S. lawyer and Solicitor of England & Wales. She is a guest lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Business, and a thought leader on IP issues regarding generative AI. Regina was honored as a “Go-To Lawyer in Intellectual Property” in 2021 by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and is recognized in Legal 500 for her outstanding work. Regina has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degree in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
