ABA Center for Innovation Network Episode Two

Episode Two:

Margaret Hagan and David Colarusso present:  Machine Learning for Access to Justice.

Moderator: Dean Dan Rodriguez, Chair, ABA Center for Innovation

Emerging technology is not exclusive to disruptive legal tech startups, Big Law, and other for-profit industry actors. Many new technologies have potential to empower the legal aid community to bridge our nation's justice gap, better connect the public with reliable legal information, and teach lawyers how to better serve clients.

In the second installment of the Center for Innovation Network, the Center's Chair, Daniel Rodriguez, with the help of Margaret Hagan and David Colarusso, will explore some of the ways human-centered design methods and emerging technologies can be used to facilitate access to justice. Margaret and David will discuss the need for a legal issues taxonomy, specifics of their machine learning classifier project "Learned Hands," and explore with the audience the growing ecosystem of projects, data sets, and interconnected applications. After the webinar, be sure to stick around for a Q&A session.
