Everlaw for Good Offers Premier EDiscovery Software Free of Charge to Nonprofits and Pro Bono Programs

Joanne Sprague, Director, Everlaw for Good

At the recent ABA/NLADA Equal Justice Conference in Detroit, my company Everlaw announced a significant expansion of our Everlaw for Good Program, which aims to help level the playing field for justice by removing the financial and operational barriers to equitable access.

Since 2017, Everlaw for Good has provided free and heavily discounted access to our world-class litigation and investigation management software to qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofits, legal aid organizations, and law firm pro bono practices. Recognizing that the generative AI revolution has the potential to either widen or narrow the justice gap, we’re now also welcoming all participants to join the EverlawAI Assistant beta program to use the company's generative AI features, which are currently free of charge.

If your organization engages in strategic litigation or manages cases with a heavy or complex document load, I’d encourage you to check out Everlaw for Good. Our platform is known for being intuitive and easy to use, while powerful enough to handle complex document review needs, helping legal professionals chart a straighter path to the truth. Users can upload thousands of documents in minutes, review and code documents at the click of a button, and easily collaborate with outside counsel from within the platform.

Everlaw is trusted by more than 125 social impact partners, including leading legal aid organizations like Texas RioGrande Legal Aid and the Michigan Advocacy Program, nonprofits like the Animal Legal Defense Fund and The Center for Justice and Accountability, and pro bono practices of AmLaw 50 firms like Orrick and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Everlaw helps these organizations manage large volumes of data efficiently and securely so they can focus on what truly matters – serving clients and advocating for justice.

Here’s what Dave Mauch, attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, had to say:

“Everlaw has saved me countless hours by keeping documents organized and allowing me to sort, tag, and highlight important information. In a case with thousands of documents, I’m able to immediately put my hands on every document that is helpful on a particular legal issue [...] I cannot overstate how much of a game changer that’s been – it’s helped me create order out of what would otherwise be chaos.”

Our goal is to grow the number of cases supported through Everlaw for Good by 60% in the next year and to deliver $1 million in in-kind platform services. The program supports matters in six categories of access to justice: Low Income Populations, Civil Rights, Civil Liberties, Human Rights, Public Rights and Environmental Rights.

We’ve found that partners who join the program benefit in three ways:

  1. Cost savings: Everlaw provides all-inclusive access free of charge up to a monthly cap, including unlimited licenses, support and training.

  2. Efficiency: By using the most advanced legaltech platform, orgs save valuable time in uploading, reviewing, and analyzing documents, using Everlaw’s advanced analytics and AI to find key evidence and organize it into legal arguments.

  3. Impact: The time and cost savings organizations gain allow them to take on more and bigger cases that they would otherwise have to turn away, increasing access to justice for their clients and communities.

As the program’s first director, I’m excited to get Everlaw into the hands of as many deserving organizations as possible. If you’re interested in learning more, please visit Everlaw for Good or contact our team directly at [email protected].
