We will examine the current restrictions on and the future of cannabis in cross-border transactions. In so doing, the panel will explore examples of statutes and regulations regarding the distribution of marijuana on a local level, state to state level, and internationally. When states first began amending their laws to permit the possession, cultivation, and sale of cannabis, there was an assumption of a closed loop of solely intrastate activity; the panel will explore the impact of this assumption on the current landscape.
