Following the broader initiatives under Plan Mexico 2025, during the month of January the Ministry of Economy announced the relaunch of the Single Window Platform (Ventanilla Única). Originally introduced in 2010, the platform has undergone a significant modernization to enhance user experience, streamline regulatory processes, and promote transparency for businesses and individuals.
The updated Ventanilla Única integrates advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain to simplify procedures like business registration, import/export permits, and tax compliance.
Lastly, on February 17, 2025, the “National Infrastructure Program for Quality” was published in Mexico’s Federal Official Gazette. The main goal is to manage and organize Mexico’s efforts in standardization, normalization, and measurement, ensuring they are consistent, well-coordinated, and effective.
The program and its supplementary information are to be updated twice a year (November and June). These documents are officially published in the Federal Official Gazette.
Standardization Authorities, National Standardization Bodies, and Authorized Entities for Standardization can use this program to propose the creation, modification, or cancellation of Normas Oficiales Mexicanas (Official Mexican Standards, a form of secondary regulation) or other related standards. For any new, revised, or canceled standards to be considered, they must be included in this official program or its supplement, ensuring transparency and organization.
The program underscores Mexico’s commitment to maintaining high standards in quality and measurement systems, which are critical for economic development and international competitiveness.
These initiatives reflect Mexico’s ongoing efforts to modernize its economy, promote sustainability, and foster social equity, positioning the country as a leader in innovation and inclusive development.
