Fintechs offer innovative financial products to consumers with much of the functionality traditionally associated with products offered by banks. Fintechs need bank partners to perform the core banking functions, and regulators are scrutinizing these arrangements. This panel will explore the challenges in determining what banking and consumer finance laws apply to non-bank fintechs, how fintechs and banks structure partnership arrangements to comply with the law, and recent legal and regulatory developments in fintech/bank partnerships.
