This program will address gender-inclusive drafting in transactional and litigation documents. It will discuss best practices such as avoiding such gendered terms as “husband” or “wife” in favor of terms like “spouse,” scrutinizing documents for gendered language (such as “man-made” or “gentleman’s agreement”), and using the singular “they” when referring to an individual whose gender is unknown or when discussing a generic person.
