This program will discuss aging, mental and physical health issues, and competency in attorneys and judges. Ethics rules now require a managing partner to monitor competency within the firm. Judges on the panel will discuss what ethical obligations they have in identifying and reporting competency issues they see in their courtrooms. We will also touch upon attorney succession planning and retirement and mandatory retirement ages in the judiciary.
