Cyberspace Colleagues –
By the time this newsletter hits your electronic desk, you should have received an announcement that registration is open for the 2020 Cyberspace Law Institute and Winter Working Meeting. Please join us for this signature event on January 24-25 in at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in Phoenix. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get very relevant CLE (see more below) and to get more involved with the committee. We alternate plenary CLE sessions with breakout meetings, where subcommittees work on existing projects, discuss hot issues, and identify new initiatives.
Our meeting begins with a cocktail party at the law school the evening of Thursday, January 23. CLE programs and subcommittee meetings begin the following morning and continue through midday on Saturday, January 25. If your schedule permits you to arrive by midday or so on Thursday, plan to join some of us for a hike on nearby Saddleback Mountain. More details will be forthcoming.
As a quick reminder, the ABA’s protocols now direct newsletters and most other communications through committee-specific ABA Connect pages. Please make sure (1) you are signed up for the Cyberspace Law Committee (it’s free if you are a Business Law Section member) and (2) you have adjusted your ABA account settings to receive alerts—either real-time or daily—when committee communications are posted.
We still have openings for a few subcommittee vice-chairs, so please email Cheryl Burtzel or me if you are interested. As always, please also let us know if you have ideas for projects or want to get involved in other ways.
