Subcommittee to Implement the ABA Model Principles on Labor Trafficking and Child
Labor and the Working Group to Draft Human Rights Protections in Supply Contracts
E. Christopher Johnson, Jr., Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility Committee (CSR) (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Susan A. Maslow, Chair of CSR Subcommittee (email@example.com)
David V. Snyder, Chair of UCC Committee Working Group (firstname.lastname@example.org)
There will be a joint meeting of the Working Group to Draft Human Rights Protections in International Supply Contracts and the Subcommittee to Implement the ABA Model Principles on Labor Trafficking and Child Labor on Wednesday, September 23, from 10:00 AM to Noon Central Time, followed immediately by the Corporate Social Responsibility Law Committee Meeting from Noon to 1:00 PM. The Chairs of the three initiatives intend to present feedback from multiple sources since publication of the 2018 Report and Model Contract Clauses for International Supply Contracts and to discuss suggested revisions to the previous work. It is believed participation from a number of other Business Law Section Committees, including the Business and Corporation Litigation Committee, could greatly enhance the Model Contract Clauses and more effectively communicate the Business Law Section’s commitment to the previously adopted ABA Model Principles on Labor Trafficking and Child Labor and other human rights efforts, such as protection of worker health and safety, while optimizing client-centric and market-specific approaches.
These are ongoing projects and anyone interested in working to improve the initial version of the Model Contract Clauses and other efforts to implement the ABA Model Principles is welcome. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
