Steven E. Clark, Solo Practitioner with Clark Firm PLLC, recently moved to a new office space at 5445 La Sierra Drive, Dallas, TX 75231.

Katherine Smith Dedrick, Owner, KSD Law PC and KSD Consulting Inc., wrote a novel called Deviant Agendas. It’s available on Amazon and other locations. It’s a legal thriller and is the 1st book in a series of 3. The second book is written and in the editing process now. Should be out by Spring!

Jonathan W. Hugg, Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, LLP, was appointed as Co-Chair of his firm’s Financial Services Litigation Practice Group.

Jeremy Kruidenier, Vice Executive Director and General Counsel, Wine and Spirits Distributors of Illinois, was appointed as General Counsel for the association as of January 1, 2019. This appointment complements Kruidenier’s current role as WSDI Vice Executive Director.

Wine and Spirits Distributors of Illinois announced on January 3, 2019 it had appointed Jeremy Kruidenier, Vice Executive Director of WSDI, to also serve as General Counsel to the executive leadership team. In this expanded role, Kruidenier will continue to lobby and advocate for the regulatory and legislative issues of WSDI members and provide legal expertise.

“Jeremy has worked on a number of legislative victories for WSDI and has proven time and again that he is a savvy and tireless advocate for the wholesale industry,” said WSDI Executive Director Karin Lijana Matura. “By expanding Jeremy’s role within the organization, we are better able to utilize his deep understanding of the legislative process and issues impacting our membership.”

Since entering the position as Vice Executive Director in August 2015, Kruidenier has represented WSDI in front of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, the Illinois General Assembly and various units of local government. Kruidenier and WSDI will continue to maintain their close working relationship with long-standing counsel Jim Webster of Webster Powell. “I’ve enjoyed working with Jeremy at WSDI and look forward to the same in his new role,” said Webster.

“It is an honor to work with the incredible team at WSDI and I’m excited to expand my role advocating for the state’s leading wine and spirits distributors and promoting the safe distribution of alcoholic beverages in Illinois,” said Kruidenier.

Prior to his role at WSDI, Kruidenier held several deputy level positions under the administration of Governor Pat Quinn where he managed staff, oversaw a portfolio of hundreds of pieces of legislation and advised the Governor as a member of his senior staff.

Kruidenier graduated Cum Laude from the University of Illinois College of Law and received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a practicing attorney in the State of Illinois and in the United States District Court - Northern District of Illinois.

Kruidenier is the Chair of the Trade and Professional Associations Committee at the Chicago Bar Association and serves on the Alzheimer’s Association of Illinois Junior Board, the Equality Illinois PAC Board, and is a member of the 100 Club of Chicago and the Varsity “I” Association. He lives in Oak Park with his wife and daughter.

Kenneth Michaels, Managing Partner of Lakelaw: Ken Michaels, who focuses on condominium and commercial real estate litigation, was featured in the February 2019 issue of Chicago Lawyer magazine in an article about the ethics and practical utility of web legal advertising services such as Findlaw and Avvo.

Thomas A. Muccifori, Partner, Archer Law, in the midst of his firm celebrating its 90th anniversary, Mr. Muccifori was honored to be named the firm’s Recruitment and Retention Partner and he looks forward to helping shape the next 90 years for this tremendous firm he has called home for 35 years.

Hon. Denise Owens, Chancellor, Fifth Judicial District Hinds County, Mississippi, at the Board of Bar Commissioner’s meeting of February 7, was unanimously selected as the 2019 Judicial Excellence Award winner. The award is presented by the Bar to recognize an exceptional judge who is an example of judicial excellence, who has been a leader in advancing the quality and efficiency of justice, and who is a person of high ideals, character, and integrity. The award will be presented at the Mississippi Bar’s Annual Meeting Farewell Brunch, July 12, 2019.

Heidi McNeil Staudenmaier, Partner, Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., completed the Phoenix Summit Challenge for the sixth straight year. The event involves hiking five different mountain peaks in the Phoenix, Arizona area in one day. The total mileage for the November 17, 2018 event was 17.5 miles.

Heidi also has been chosen for the 2020 issue of Az Business Leaders, AZ Big Media’s publication that profiles Arizona’s most respected and influential business leaders.  Staudenmaier was chosen based upon input from professionals throughout Arizona’s business community.
