Business Training Material

The ILO report, published in 2008, which describes important ways that businesses can eliminate human/labor trafficking. This excellent resource includes comprehensive discussions about legal and moral obligations, how to identify trafficking, develop effective policy statements, conduct audits and training and identifies other key actions that business can take to eliminate trafficking.

Sections 2, 4, 5 and 6 are especially good and there are examples at the end of fact-specific effective anti-trafficking initiatives. The ILO materials were developed with significant employer input/approval so they should be an acceptable reference point that can be put forward quickly as the outreach to Fortune 500 companies is made. Of particular interest -- The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) was among the effective anti-trafficking efforts identified in the ILO report. As you all know, CIW was represented on our panel in November and was also honored last month at a White House conference on trafficking.
