Business Law Section Spring Meeting 2020

Cancellation of Business Law Section Spring Meeting

As a result of the large number of speakers and attendees who were compelled to cancel their participation due to travel restrictions put in place by employers, the ABA and the Business Law Section have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Spring Meeting scheduled for March 26-28. We appreciate your patience as we have been carefully monitoring this dynamic situation. We will miss seeing all of you in Boston, but the health and safety of our members is our primary concern.

On behalf of the Section Officers, we appreciate the significant contributions that have been made by committee and subcommittee leaders and program chairs for over 90 CLE programs in preparation for this year's meeting. We anticipate offering many of these Spring Meeting programs through an increased number of Business Law Section free CLE webinars over the next few months, so please watch your email for details on alternative programming and committee and subcommittee meeting opportunities.

Please note the following regarding cancellation policies:

  • Meeting: Cancellations for the Spring Meeting and ticketed events will automatically be processed, and refunds will be credited to you within the next two weeks using your original form of payment. For questions, please contact Quiana Nesbit at Quiana.Nesbit@americanbar.org or 312-988-5588.
  • Hotel: Please note that the few remaining hotel reservations that were not canceled by individual guests by 3/17/20 were canceled automatically on 3/18/20.   The hotels sent room cancellation notifications to the email addresses on file for the reservations.

Please contact the hotels directly with further housing questions:
    Boston Marriott Copley Place: 877-901-2079
    Westin Copley Place: 888-627-7216
  • Airlines: Please note that flight reservations must be cancelled by the individual who booked the reservation. It is up to the individual airlines if they will waive change fees or issue credits for the entirety of tickets.

We thank those of you who registered for the 2020 Spring Meeting and for your support of the Business Law Section. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us by email at ababusinesslaw@americanbar.org or by phone at 312-988-5588.

We look forward to seeing you September 10-12, 2020 in Chicago for the Business Law Section Annual Meeting, and, in the meantime, please stay well!

Pat Clendenen, Chair, Business Law Section
