The CFPB Debt Collection Rule Is Narrowly Focused on FDCPA Covered Entities, Or Is It?

Panelists will discuss the proposed debt collection rule, which is expected to be finalized this year, and how it may impact first party creditors. During the discussion, panelist will debate whether Fair Debt Collection Practices Act principles should be extended to first parties through UDAAP. They will also explore how first parties may be impacted by other aspects of the proposal such as new itemization requirements and the alternative to the E-Sign Act.
