Who Governs the Internet, and Why Should Business Lawyers Care?
August 20, 2020
Internet Governance (IG) touches upon many aspects of business law practice. This panel will provide an overview of the main IG bodies (ICANN: Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers and IGF: Internet Governance Forum) and main IG approaches (multilateral and multi-stakeholder). The panel will then show how this understanding of how IG works can help attorneys address common business law issues, such as domain name disputes, website hijacking, trademark infringement, SEO marketing abuses, and more.
