November 8, 2016

On Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. EST/9:00 a.m. PST, the Banking Law Committee will present a free call-in program on "The Anti-Terrorism Act, the new Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act ("JASTA") and the rising tide of terrorism-related litigation against banks." Leading banks, including those based in Europe, the UK, the Middle East and the United States, have already been sued under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The program will provide an explanation of the genesis of JASTA, and explain how JASTA's little known aiding and abetting and conspiracy provisions may create risks of unwarranted litigation against banks, including US domestic banks. The presentation also will discuss de-risking and other possible solutions.
