Cleantech, Energy, and Environmental Sustainability

The Cleantech Energy & Environmental Subcommittee focuses on the practice of developing cleantech energy projects and their associated infrastructure based on existing and proposed federal, state and local laws.  These laws include incentives to the development of these projects and technologies as well as regulatory rules and regulations.  The Subcommittee also addresses the environmental issues surrounding these projects and environmental issues if these solutions are not implemented.

The CSR Disclosure and Reporting Subcommittee focuses on how CSR disclosure and reporting requirements and practices can improve the availability of reliable data to help companies establish transparency, trust, and accountability in their sustainability goals.

Implementation of the ABA Model Policies on Labor Trafficking and Child Labor

Mission Statement

The goal of this Subcommittee is to see the ABA Model Principles on Labor Trafficking and Child Labor approved by the ABA House of Delegates in 2014 incorporated into a variety of business relationships and transactions. This Subcommittee joined the UCC Working Group to Draft Model Contract Clauses to Protect Human Rights in Supply Chains (the MCCs) published in 2018 (Version 1) and 2021 (Version 2).

RIMC Project

Mission Statement

The Responsible Investors Model Contract (RIMC) Project Subcommittee is working with Rutgers School of Law’s Responsible Contracting Project and other third parties to draft model contract clauses for investment documentation that reflect and require human rights due diligence and protections prior to and throughout the term of private investor or fund manager acquisition of equity interests.

Mission Statement

The Stakeholder Engagement Subcommittee focuses on the ways that the input of key stakeholders (such as employees, local communities, environmental oversight workers, or society at large) can be used to improve corporate management decisions that can have wide-ranging impacts.

Sustainable Global Corporate Activism

Mission Statement

The Sustainable Global Corporate Activism Subcommittee focuses on the practice and policy of local , state, and global intersections of DEI, CSR and ESG with an emphasis on racial equity and positions sustainable businesses and investors to lead and operate from a responsible and principles-based approach.
