What's New in Consumer Protection and Advertising Law - February Update

Panelists review recent cases and investigations by the FTC, including the case against H&R Block for deceptive practices against consumers. The panel also reviewed the FTC's recent hearings regarding amendments to the Negative Option Rule. The FTC finalized the government and business impersonation rule this month, enabling the commission to seek monetary relief from marketers using government seals or business logos when communicating with consumers. The panel also reviews cases by the NAD and the FDA. The FDA will be revising its definition of healthy and issuing new labels for packaging.
