Privacy and the Ongoing Viability of Consent

ARYEH FRIEDMAN, Daniel Solove, David S Turetsky, and Jessica Rich

There is an ongoing debate as to whether the consent model of privacy still works in today’s world. The speakers will discuss the background to the consent model and how it has evolved to date; what we have learned about the effectiveness of that model as applied in the U.S., EU and other jurisdictions, and what options we have to develop a new model and/or supplement the existing model of consent.
