FTC v. US Anesthesia Partners: Serial Acquisitions and Private Equity in Focus

In September, FTC filed a complaint against USAP and its private equity founder Welsh Carson. Along with other claims, FTC alleges that USAP engaged in monopolization through serial acquisitions of anesthesia practices, emphasizing the role of USAP's PE backer. We'll discuss the implications of FTC's unusual claims for continued agency interest in the role of private equity firms in healthcare.
