2016-2017 Student Writing Competition Winner
Marie Forney is a third-year law student at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she is the Executive Notes and Comments Editor of the Indiana Law Journal. Marie is also completing a Master of Public Affairs degree from Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Music from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
Marie's winning article is entitled "North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners v. FTC: Aligning Antitrust Law with Commerce Clause Jurisprudence Through a Natural Shift of State-Federal Balance of Power" and was published in 92 IND. L.J. 365 (2016).
After graduation, Marie will be clerking for Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush of the Indiana Supreme Court. Thereafter, she hopes to practice in the areas of intellectual property and antitrust litigation.
