Women.Connected’s Hall of Fame-inism honors those who have made contributions as role models and in promoting women in the antitrust, consumer protection, and data privacy fields. Honorees have consistent track records of supporting and promoting other women, individually through things like mentoring, sponsoring, hiring, and creating leadership opportunities, to systemic change for which the honorees have pushed, such as resisting and changing structures, institutions, and other forms of systemic gender inequality. 

2024 Inductees

Trish Connors and Renata Hesse

Trish Connors and Renata Hesse

Trish Conners is a shareholder at Stearns Weaver Miller, focusing on antitrust and competition law both within Florida and nationally. Prior to joining Stearns Weaver Miller, Trish served as Chief Deputy at the Florida Attorney General’s Office, supervising the agency’s 1100 employees, including 400 lawyers. Prior to that, she was the Office’s Deputy Attorney General for Enforcement, overseeing the Office’s Antitrust and Complex Enforcement, Civil Rights, Consumer Protection, False Claims and Lemon Law Arbitration Divisions. Her career with the Office spanned 36 years. Trish currently serves on the Executive Council for the ABA’s Government and Public Sector Lawyers’ Division and is Co-Chair of the ABA Antitrust Law Section’s Compliance and Ethics Committee, one of many Section leadership positions she has held. She has received several awards in addition to being inducted into the Women.Connected Hall of Fame-inism, including the ABA Nelson Award and the Florida Attorney General’s Office “Trish Conners Award,” which recognizes an Office of the Attorney General lawyer “who exemplifies excellence, professionalism, and demonstrated dedication, to the mission of the Department of Legal Affairs.”

Renata Hesse is Co-Head of Sullivan & Cromwell’s Antitrust Group. She focuses on antitrust counseling, cartels and merger clearance. Renata is Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section. Prior to joining Sullivan & Cromwell, Renata twice served as Acting Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Justice and as Senior Counsel to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. Renata has received several awards in addition to being inducted into the Women.Connected Hall of Fame-inism, including being named “Lawyer of the Year” at the 2024 Global Competition Review Awards and consistently being recognized as a leader in Antitrust – District of Columbia since 2019.

Lauren Stiroh is a leading scholar in the economics of antitrust, intellectual property, and commercial damages, and currently serves as a Senior Managing Director at NERA Economic Consulting. Lauren has conducted research, prepared expert reports, and testified in court on a variety of issues arising from antitrust allegations such as monopolization, exclusionary conduct, vertical restrictions, and predatory pricing. Lauren has also presented her research before the FTC, the DOJ, and the Canadian Competition Bureau. Lauren holds a PhD in economics from Harvard University, and has received a variety awards in addition to being inducted into the Women.Connected Hall of Fame-inism.
