The Exemptions and Immunities Committee addresses judicially created immunities, state action, implied immunity, and filed rate doctrines as well as statutory exemptions. The Committee also addresses international issues, such as the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act, and other doctrines, such as antitrust preemption and primary jurisdiction, that affect the application and extent of the antitrust laws. The Committee aims to be a resource for information on the fundamental question of what the scope of antitrust law is.
