Law firms in all markets, all practice areas and of all sizes are challenged by the seemingly never-ending quest to find the "right" compensation model. We work hard to build our practices, build our skills, and build our brands. We want to feel that our time and our contributions are valued appropriately. This program will identify the compensation models commonly used, discuss the pros and cons of each and discuss how to maximize the likelihood of implementing a comp system that keeps everyone (or almost everyone) satisfied.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the primary law firm compensation models, including the models for lateral partners hires and different tiers of partners.
- Identify the primary challenges to developing a compensation model that balances and reconciles the competing interests of all stakeholders.
- Identify the best practices for building consensus and resolving disagreements surrounding comp models.
