      Generative artificial intelligence (GAI), of which ChatGTP is a prominent example, bursts onto the popular imagination in late 2022. Fueled by internet data, including copyrighted works, GAI is being used to generate text that mimics human-authored content creating scientific reliability and authenticity issues. This is an interactive session to address the ethical implications of GAI for attorneys and judges as well as delve into the nature of GAI, consider how GAI might be used or misused, and address causes of action that might be brought arising out of GAI.

      At the end, attendees will:

      • Understand the differences between AI and GAI
      • Identify the pertinent Canons that are implicated both for the judges and lawyers; and
      • Examine hypotheticals and apply the pertinent evidentiary issues and Canons with audience participation.
