As public awareness about institutional child abuse grows, there is increasing demand for action within the legal system to effect meaningful change. This panel discussion features judges and lawyers with demonstrated expertise and experience in creating unique and effective judicial solutions to pressing problems with juveniles. The first part of the discussion will provide an overview of the legal issues within youth treatment centers, an issue facing up to 200,000 youth a year. The panel will then address and discuss novel judicial approaches to analyzing placement decisions and child trafficking risks within youth treatment facilities. Finally, this panel will provide a question and answer session to allow other members of the legal community to share insights and voice collaborative solutions to this pressing issue.
