The Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), through its Brownfields Program and Environmental and Climate Justice Program (ECJP), has an unprecedented amount of grant funding available for Brownfield related projects. Specifically, there is a Community Change grant with a November 2024 submittal deadline that will be one focus of the webinar. EPA's Brownfields Program provides direct funding for brownfields assessment, cleanup, revolving loans, environmental job training, technical assistance, training, and research. The 2022 Inflation Reduction Act created the Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grant program (Community Change Grants) and provided the EPA with $2.8 billion in grant funding to help disadvantaged communities address a wide range of environmental and climate justice issues, and $200 million for technical assistance related to these grants.

This 2-part series will provide an overview of Brownfields to Healthfields ("B2H") redevelopment, Brownfields funding and technical assistance opportunities, and explore Brownfields Cornerstones used to support successful Environmental Justice and Equitable Development projects, including several B2H projects.
