Domestic Violence: Prevention, Protection and Prosecution, Internationally and Domestically
1 PM EDT
The scourge of domestic violence persists and has escalated exponentially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Countries have adopted legislation and hotlines to address the issue. But challenges persist both socioeconomically and legally. This webinar will discuss the causes and consequences of domestic violence. The expert panelists will present an overview of the relevant international legislation, focusing on the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (the Istanbul Convention), which is the first and most comprehensive international treaty specifically addressing these issues.
