Education and Democracy: Democratization of Resources - Resource Inequities and Educational Opportunities

    3 PM EDT

The closing program will examine how a variety of discriminatory practices - housing segregation, school segregation, and transportation inequities - combine to perpetuate resource inequities in districts serving high numbers of students of color and students from low-income families. Leading civil rights litigators will discuss efforts to address these inequities, including exploring establishment of a federal civil right to education and implications of such a right.
