    Ana Sambold, Esq. is a California Mediator and Arbitrator. Her practice involves the resolution of business/commercial, insurance, property, employment, succession, trusts, and cases involving multinational parties and cross-cultural issues. She is on the neutral panels of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), ADR Services, Inc., National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC), and several courts, federal and state agencies in the U.S. Ana speaks Spanish fluently and mediates and arbitrates regularly using both English and Spanish.  For the past ten years, she served as a neutral in over 1,000 cases. She is also an experienced trainer in conflict resolution and cross-cultural communication. Ana is currently the ABA Dispute Resolution Section Educational Programming Officer, 2019 ABA Advanced Mediation and Advocacy Skills Institute Co-Chair, Women in Dispute Resolution (WIDR) San Diego representative, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) North American Branch Board Director, Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA) Board Director, San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) ADR Section Vice-Chair, ArbitralWomen international network member and past California Lawyers Association ADR Committee Co-Chair.     Danny worked as a CEDR Director (London) since2004 and is dually qualified as a lawyer both in Australia and the UK. He hasbeen involved in negotiation, conflict resolution training, mediation andinternational business for over 20 years. After completing his Masters inCommercial Law he specialised in dispute resolution and international trade.

     

    Danny speaks Mandarin Chinesefluently and mediates regularly in Hong Kong, China and overseas using bothEnglish and Mandarin. He has worked with people of all nationalities and has aclear understanding of the dynamics of mediating and arbitrating acrossnational boundaries. Based in Hong Kong he mediates regularly in thecommercial, employment, construction, succession and trusts, banking,insurance, and property sectors with a particular expertise in cross-culturaland multinational disputes. He is also an expert trainer and facilitatorproviding training in conflict management, negotiation, change management,unconscious bias and mediation to organisations such as the UN, ADB, IHG, WorldBank and MTR

     

    Since 2010 he has acted as RegionalMediator Asia Pacific for the World Bank Group. Currently also the Regional Mediatorto the United Nations in South East Asia. 

     

    An author of many articles onADR and negotiation; in 2013 his book “Mediation in Greater China” waspublished by Kluwer Law. He is Co-Editor of “Mediation in Singapore: A practicalguide” a Sweet & Maxwell publication launched by the Chief Justice ofSingapore in March 2015 currently being updated. Also Editor and author new book “Chinese International BusinessTransactions and Laws”, Kluwer Law, due to publish late 2016.

     

    In 2009 was appointed Directorof Mediation at the United Nations in New York, mediating cases and whichfollowed on from 2008, when he joined the United Nations Ombudsman’s New YorkOffice in as an expert adviser on the establishment of a new MediationDivision.

     

    Danny has worked as a trainerin many countries including Azerbaijan, China, Cameroon, Guyana, Hong Kong,Ireland, Mongolia, Singapore, Sweden, UK and the USA. He has taught at SingaporeManagement University and Kobe University Japan teaching International DisputeResolution. He has provided consultancy on ADR to the legislatures of Hong Kong, China, Mongolia and Vietnam.

    Danny enjoys languages, history and English football. He recently had the pleasure and back pain from planting over 3000 native Irish broadleaf trees of six varieties in Donegal Ireland. The purpose was to provide a natural haven from his hectic work life in Asia and to try and assuage his guilt arising from the time spent on wracking up air miles travelling around the globe.
