Consequences for a provider and supplier alleged to have violated health care fraud and abuse statutes can be severe. Join us to hear the perspectives of an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Deputy Chief of the Civil Division as well as of an attorney in private practice regarding recent trends in health care fraud and abuse investigations. The panelists will summarize recent areas of focus for government health care fraud and abuse investigations, including cases based on allegations of violations of the Federal False Claims Act, cases based on violations of the Anti-kickback Statute, and cases based on providers and suppliers that are alleged to have provided medically unnecessary services. The panelists will also discuss the use of statistics in government investigations.
