1 PM EST
Don't miss this FREE hot topic teleconference, part of the ABA-TIPS Member Mondays CLE Series on Monday,December 11th. This complimentary teleconference series was created for TIPS members to address your areas of practice.
This program will focus on key chapters of the Essential Qualities of a Professional Lawyer as described in the ABA’s book by the same name. Litigators must be zealous advocates and often confront vexatious counsel who do not always operate within the bounds of ethics and professionalism. The challenges of dealing with aggressive opposing counsel and the general stress of litigation may impact both a lawyer’s effectiveness and well-being.
Panelists will focus on techniques for litigators to maximize effectiveness and minimize stress such as the use of civility as an effective "weapon", and the use of mindfulness as a valuable decision-making tool. This panel will also discuss the "business of law" in the context of proper fee handling. Some trust account issues may initially seem counter-intuitive, but are nonetheless essential for maintaining both your practice and your license.
This webinar will discuss:
· Effective litigation tactics for the lawyer while maintaining professionalism and ethics
· Addressing challenges posed by aggressive opposing counsel and how to address them
· The “business of law” within the bounds of ethics/professionalism.
