    1 PM EST

Due diligence for real estate transactions is a bit of an enigma.  What is its goal?  What does it entail?  What value does it add to a real estate sales transaction?  These questions often arise for lawyers and, even more commonly, for less sophisticated (or impatient) parties.  We invite you to spend your time with us considering why and how we undertake due diligence when buying or selling real estate.  Topics will include:

    • The “process” of real estate due diligence
    • “Universal” due diligence issues – ownership, title, survey, environmental, permits
    • Tailoring due diligence to specific transactions – existing buildings or new developments
    • Knowing when enough is enough – cost/benefit analysis of due diligenc e
