    Planning With Difficult Assets

    1 PM GMT

Traditional wealth transfer planning strategies may not work for some clients or some assets. Reasons for this include assets subject to restrictions so they cannot be transferred, that are not likely to appreciate greater than the AFR, that do not generate cash flow, or whose sale would result in significant capital gains tax. In these situations, private, intra-family options, and derivatives can be useful strategies.
    Our speakers will discuss:
    • What private derivatives are
    • How they can be used
    • Using grantor trusts to avoid gain on sale and settlement
    • Availability of an estate tax deduction for liabilities under private derivatives
