    The Federalization of Trade Secrets

    1 PM GMT

The Federalization of Trade Secrets:  President Obama signed into law the first civil federal trade secrets law, providing trade secret owners access to federal courts for their trade secrets claims.  While modeled after the Uniform Trade Secrets Act, which has been adopted by 48 states, the law does not preempt state laws.  It does, however, create additional ex parte seizure remedies for trade secrets victims and imposes certain whistleblower immunity notice requirements and disclosure protections.  The speakers on this webinar will explore the details of this new law, including what it means for employers, as well as for employees on the move.  They also will discuss new developments in the area of trade secrets law generally, including trade secret litigation before the International Trade Commission and the interplay between trade-secret issues in non-compete agreements.
