What Every Estate Planner Should Know About Firearm

This program will examine the special steps that you should take if a client’s estate contains firearms, both traditional weapons as well as weapons governed by the National Firearms Act of 1934.

The learning objectives are as follows:

    •  Appreciating importance of asking estate planning clients whether they own traditional firearms and NFA weapons.
    • Learning the steps necessary to plan for traditional firearms such as revolvers, pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
    • Recognizing the problems that arise if proper planning is not done for NFA weapons such as machine guns, short-barreled weapons, and silencers.
    • Demonstrating techniques available to plan for NFA weapons, especially the NFA Gun Trust.
