Multi-sided Markets: Antitrust Enforcement and Platforms

    12:15 PM EDT

The economics of two-sided markets is increasingly informing the antitrust analysis of markets such as electronic payments, computer operating systems, health care, Internet services, real estate, and newspapers. Although economists have been writing about two-sided markets for decades, how antitrust law should handle two-sided markets remains a relatively new issue for the courts and antitrust agencies. In this in-person program, our panelists will share their insights into merger and conduct enforcement in the context of multi-sided markets.
