Post-Mortem of Health Insurance Mega-Mergers and Implication for the Future

    12 PM EDT

In the past year, the DOJ successfully challenged two mergers pairing health insurance giants, Aetna and Humana in one transaction and Anthem and Cigna in the other. The District Court decisions and subsequent Appeals Court decision pertaining to these mergers have significant implications for healthcare transactions going forward. The panelists will offer their views as to how these decisions will shape market definition, analyses of competitive effects, the assessment of negotiating dynamics between large payers and providers, and efficiency arguments in future healthcare transactions. The panelists look forward to discussion with ample time for a Q&A session with audience.
