    Environmental and Energy Careers:
Insights on Transitioning to a Non-legal Role

    Wednesday, May 17, 2017

    1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. Eastern
    Committee Program Call

Program Overview: We've all heard that common refrain: "You can do anything with a law degree!" While many attorneys happily remain in the practice of law through their entire career, opportunities in business, policy, science, and other fields often can be a good fit for attorneys looking to make a change.  Please join our panel of recovering attorneys who switched to non-legal roles after law firm and in-house careers in environmental and energy law. Panelists will address their decision to make the switch, challenges and rewards in their non-legal role, and advice for attorneys considering a career path outside the practice of law.

    Moderator:
Christina Landgraf, Counsel - Environmental, Health & Safety, United Airlines, Inc.

    Panelists:
Angela Foster-Rice, Managing Director, Global Environmental Affairs and Sustainability, United Airlines, Inc.
Karen Mignone, Global Director, Sustainability and Environmental Affairs, Xeros Technology Group plc
Melissa L. Thomas, Director of Regulatory Policy, Columbia Gas of Ohio, Inc.
Chris Davis, Senior Program Director, Investor Program, Ceres
