Flag on the Play: Ticket Resale Restrictions

    12 PM EST

Recent class action litigation involving challenges to primary ticket sellers’ efforts to control ticket resale on secondary markets raise important antitrust questions for any practitioner who counsels clients on pricing issues. Plaintiffs in Olsen & Olsen v. New Jersey Devils, LLC, Kazemzadeh v. San Francisco 49ers & Ticketmaster LLC, and Stubhub, Inc. v. Golden State Warriors, LLC & Ticketmaster LLC allege that similar conduct violates antitrust and consumer protection laws. This panel will explore the issue of resale restrictions in secondary markets, potential antitrust harm, and economic theory in the context of these cases.
