The FTAIA and International Comity -- Deference to Foreign Enforcement

    12 PM EDT

This is the second of a four-program series sponsored by the Joint Conduct and International Committees, the first of which was held on Nov. 3, 2014. The speakers will consider how, or whether, the FTAIA should be applied to accommodate competition enforcement policies of countries in which cartel members reside. They will compare extraterritorial application of the Sherman Act to extraterritorial application of competition laws by other countries and will weigh foreign interest in restraints on Sherman Act reach, taking into account amicus brief filings by foreign competition agencies in U.S. appellate court cases.
