    Michael J. Lawrence is Senior Competition Counsel at Google Inc. in Mountain View, California.  Michael primarily focuses on representing the company in antitrust investigations, antitrust litigation, and regulatory matters.  He has handled significant matters for Google in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America.

    Before joining Google in 2011, Michael served as competition counsel at Intel Corporation for six years.  At Intel, he handled antitrust investigations and litigation.  Michael began his legal career as an associate at Latham & Watkins, where he focused on intellectual property, commercial, and antitrust litigation.  


    Michael frequently speaks and lectures on competition and IP issues.  He has taught intellectual property law as an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School and Santa Clara University Law School. In May 2015, he taught a comparative antitrust law seminar at Far Eastern Federal University in Russia.  Michael is active in the ABA Section of Antitrust Law.  Currently, he serves as a vice chair of the Unilateral Conduct committee.  Michael recently served as co-editor of the Intellectual Property and Antitrust Handbook (2nd Edition).
