Why You Should Attend
Based on the 1919 trial of Ziang Sung Wan, this one-day training/bootcamp delves into all aspects of the highly-publicized case and groundbreaking Supreme Court ruling. Wan was indicted for the murder of one of three Chinese diplomats and signed a written confession, later repudiating that confession. The court overruled efforts to exclude the confession at trial and he was sentenced to death by hanging. The ruling was affirmed on appeal but the U.S. Supreme Court subsequently issued a groundbreaking opinion, reversing the conviction.
