    ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries 40th Anniversary Annual Meeting

    Don’t miss the ABA Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries 2018 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 4-6, 2018 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel. This year the Forum celebrates its 40th Anniversary. Join us for three days of programming and take home innovative and progressive concepts for improving your odds in entertainment and sports law. This year’s meeting, located in the entertainment and gaming capital of the world, offers an unsurpassed selection of entertainment and sports educational programming and collegial social events for attorneys and other professionals practicing in every sector of the industry.     On Thursday, October 4, 4:45 pm, Jack Sullivan, CEO of Broadway Video will be our Keynote Speaker on the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus.

    Friday’s luncheon, October 5, 12:45 pm, will include a 40th Anniversary Ceremony honoring the past chairs of the Forum, 11 of the past 14 chairs will be present. Immediately following the luncheon at 2:30 pm, the Forum’s past chairs will conduct a roundtable discussion about how the practice of law and the industry have changed since they were chairs.

    On Saturday, October 6, 12:00 pm, we will present a panel about the #MeToo movement featuring, Rachael Denhollander, an American lawyer and former gymnast, who was the first to publicly accuse Dr. Larry Nassar of sexual assault.

    These events along with our usual offerings of informative and timely CLE workshops and panels will be conducted at this year’s conference.

    Financial Assistance
    A limited number of scholarships to defray tuition expenses are available for this program. To request an application or receive additional information, please contact, bernadettte.steele@americanbar.org by July 31, 2018. Qualifying attorneys may receive a 50% reduction in tuition fees.

    CLE Credit
    States typically decide whether a program qualifies for CLE credit in their jurisdiction 4-8 weeks after the program application is submitted.  For many live events, credit approval is not received prior to the program. 

    The ABA directly applies for and ordinarily receives credit for live, in-person programs in AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, GA, GU, HI, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MN, MS, MO, MP, MT, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, VI, WA, WI, and WV. The ABA will seek 21.0 hours of CLE credit (including 1.5 hours of ethics credit) for this program in 60-minute states and 25.20 hours of CLE credit (including 1.80 hours of ethics credit) for this program in 50-minute states. Credit hours are estimated and are subject to approval from each state’s approval and credit rounding rules.
