35th Water Law Conference
8 AM PDT
For its 35th year, the ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources’ prestigious Water Law Conference will bring together top government, nonprofit, and private practitioners to discuss emerging issues, hot topics, and recent developments in water law and policy. Join us in sunny Los Angeles at the Loews Hollywood Hotel on March 27-29, 2017 for this immersive two day conference.
Our CLE programming is more relevant than ever as persistent drought, growing populations, aging infrastructure, and other stressors raise questions about the ability of our laws and regulations to address current and future challenges. Panelist will discuss recent legal developments in water law along with topics such as the future of Indian water rights settlements, water infrastructure and climate change, agricultural water conservation, the role of the public trust doctrine, and groundwater conflict in the 21st Century. Jeffery Kightlinger, the General Manager of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, will deliver a keynote address that provides a local context for these and other key water law issues.
Join your friends and colleagues on Monday, March 27 for an educational tour of the Los Angeles River restoration project, followed by a networking dine-around. Other networking opportunities include a joint public service project on Wednesday, March 29 with the Section’s 45th Spring Conference attendees, followed by a cocktail reception.
Hollywood sets the scene for this distinguished forum, surrounded by live music, restaurants, and shopping, steps away from famous landmarks including the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Kodak Theatre, home to the Academy Awards.
