The Internet and e-commerce have fundamentally altered notions of free trade as the digital age blurs political and economic borders. Legal and regulatory underpinnings of trade are being revised, as a matter of commercial practicality, almost monthly.
This one-and-a-half day conference will feature two parallel tracks on best practices for international companies doing business in North America and for North American companies working internationally. It will begin with a joint ethics plenary on Privilege across Borders in the E-Commerce Age and will be followed by a series of panels presented by international legal experts on the latest in key topics such as privacy issues, enforcement of judgments, antitrust and compliance.
Attendees will have the opportunity to earn up to 10 CLE/CPD credit hours in the U.S. and Canada, including 90 minutes of legal ethics/professionalism. This program will offer a unique forum for international lawyers to network with ABA Section of International Law members, members of our Cooperating Organizations and academics, government officials and NGO representatives from all parts of the world.
